Instructions :Do not rub off construction lines .
Construction work should be very thin (0.1 mm thick)
Use separate sketch book for assignments

Q.1 The double ordinate through the focus F of an ellipse is 72 mm long. If the eccentricity of the curve is 4/5. Find the positions and lengths of the major and minor axes. Draw the curve by the method of concentric circle.

Q.2 The Directrices of an ellipse are 126 mm apart & major axis is 100 mm long. Locate the foci and the ends of the major axis. Draw an ellipse using the method of concentric circles. The eccentricity of the ellipse is 9/13.

Q.3 The major axis of an ellipse is 70 mm and minor axis is 45 mm long. Draw the left half of an ellipse by Concentric Circle method and the right half by Oblong method .

Q.4 Two fixes points L & M are 100 mm apart .trace the complete path of a point as that L & M) in such away that the sum of its distances from L and M is always the same & equal to 125 mm . Name the curve & draw tangent & Normal at any point on the curve.

Q.5 An artificial satellite is orbiting around the Earth. The major axis of its orbit is 40000 Km and the minor axis 30000 Km. Draw the orbit of the satellite and show the position of earth centre assuming that it is on one of the foci. Also draw tangent and normal to the orbit at a point 10000 Km away from earth centre.

Q.7 Draw an ellipse whose foci are 64 mm apart & distance between directrices is 125 mm. Find eccentricity.

Q.8 In a triangle ABC . AB, BC & AC are 100 mm , 55 mm & 70 mm respectively . Draw an ellipse such that A & B are foci & C is point on curve. Find directrix and eccentricity of an ellipse.

Q.9 Three points A, B and P are along a horizontal line in order such that AB = 60 mm and AP = 80 mm. the point A & B remain fixed & P starts moving such that AP+BP always remain constant. Draw the path traced by the point P for one complete rotation.

Q.10 Draw an ellipse passing through ABC such that AB , BC, & AC are 100 mm , 60 mm & 75 mm long respectively.(Parallelogram method)

Q.11 Draw a rectangle of 50 mm & 75 mm sides. Draw an ellipse circumscribing the rectangle.

Q.12 Draw an ellipse passing through corners of a rhombus with diagonals 80 mm & 40 mm . Locate the directrix of this ellipse & Find its eccentricity.

Q.13 The conjugate axes of an ellipse are 60 mm & 40 mm long. The angle between them is 75 0 . find the major & minor axis.

Q.14 Draw a triangle PQR with PQ=120 mm , RPQ=300 , PQR=60 0 . Draw an ellipse circumscribing P,Q,& R by the concentric circle Method. Also draw normal & Tangent a point 30 mm from the major axis.
